Habit of mind of the month - persisting
In year 4 we have been using the habit of mind persisting as we designed our own symmetrical knot gardens from the Stuart period. In preparation for King Charles visit in 1645, Colonel Pritchard had asked us to redesign his knot garden using a symmetrical pattern. We found out that the knot gardens were symmetrical so that they looked good from the windows of Llancaiach Fawr Manor, and included flowers and plants that smelled nice to mask any bad smells nearby (e.g the plague).
We used mirrors to help us complete different garden designs, and had to work carefully and keep at it to make sure our finished designs were accurate.
