Our Leavers Mass will take place next Friday (16th July) at 10am in St. Philip Evans church. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions parents are unable to attend. Next Friday afternoon we have our Euros Day workshop. Children therefore need to wear their school uniform to school for our mass and bring their PE kit to change into later in the day.

Main task: Fairtrade recipe book
The Fairtrade committee have an exciting new competition and we need your help. We are going to create a Fairtrade recipe book to be sold in school, with the money going to supporting farmers and growers supported by the Fairtrade Foundation.
Your task is to create your favourite recipe using as many Fairtrade products as possible. We are looking for your best handwriting and you may wish to draw a picture of your finished dish to decorate your recipe. The Fairtrade committee will judge the recipes and the lucky winners will have their recipe turned into a recipe in our very own book. All entries to be given to the Fairtrade representatives in your class by the 9th June.

Your recipe can be either sweet or savoury but it must use Fairtrade products where possible. Competition entries will be judged by the Fairtrade committee and the lucky winners will be announced in our next Fairtrade assembly.

Main task: Earth Day costumes
This year Earth Day is on Thursday 22nd April and the global theme is to Restore the Earth. On this day pupils are encouraged to wear green or blue into school for the day to show how much we are thinking about the earth and our enthusiasm for taking part in World Earth Day. Over the Easter holidays please can you plan your outfit for Earth Day. You could wear a blue/green t-shirt that you already own or you might want to create your own earth themed outfit for the day. You could use some recycled items to help you create your own or you could create your own earth themed design on a t-shirt. Your costume could be linked to part of the earth that you think needs to be protected such as a rainforest or ocean themed costume.
There is also a new assignment on Google Classroom entitled 'Leavers photos' you can spend some time over Easter looking through old photographs you may have at home and upload them in preparation for our leavers celebrations in July.

You need to choose one of the following tasks to complete over the Christmas holidays:

Your Google Classroom assignment this weekend is linked to our virtues for this half term 'Curious and Active'.
Being curious means that you are curious about everything in the world. To be active means that you are active in your engagement with the world and seek to change things for the better.
You need to choose one of the tasks below to complete and upload it to the assignment on Google Classroom.
1. Create a poster encouraging people to be curious and active. Include definitions for the virtues. Illustrate how people can be active in their curiosity. For example, litter picking in the community to look after God's wonderful world. You may wish to make links to Laudato Si'.
2. Write a diary entry about a time that you have been curious and active. Include definitions for the pair of virtues. What happened? What were you curious about? How were you active in your faith? How did you put your faith into action? How did this shape your life?

During the month of October we think about and honour Mary, the mother of Jesus. It is also important to make a special effort to pray the rosary. Look through the PowerPoint 'Mysteries of the rosary' that has been attached to the assignment on Google Classroom. Think: Why is this piece of scripture included as a mystery of the rosary? Why is this piece of scripture important to me? Use the Google Docs that you have been assigned called 'Gweddiwn planner' to plan your own Gweddiwn prayer service centred around Mary. You have been provided with some suggestions for each section but try and be as creative as possible. Make sure what you choose is suitable for the month of May. Write in full and detailed sentences in each box.

Create a Poster on different types of social media apps, with their age restrictions and why they have these restrictions.
Create your own Quiz about the age restrictions on different social media sites and why we they have the restrictions (you could use google forms or google slides)
