DUE WEDNESDAY AFTER HALF TERM
Homework Task
Your homework this half term is to make a road safety sign ahead of our new topic next term 'Why should we walk to school?' . You can make it out of cardboard or paper or something more inventive! It's up to you. Go outside and walk around your local area and look at what signs you can see on the street helping both cars and people walking (pedestrians) be safe. Some examples of signs you could choose are below! These will be displayed on our display in the classroom for our new topic so please make them around A4 or A3 size.

Eisteddfod Homework Friday 7th February
DUE Monday 17th February
Homework Task
Choose one or more competitions to complete at home and bring your entries to school no later than Monday 17th February to be judged for our Eisteddfod.
3D Dragon Modelling Competition (Reception - Year 6) – Children are encouraged to make a 3D model of a dragon. Children may use whichever means of media they wish and the topic is broad to encourage creativity.
Upcycling Competition (Reception - Year 6)- Children are encouraged to make a 3D model using recycled materials of something which represents Wales for them.
Cookery Competition (Reception - Year 6)- Children are encouraged to cook something which is a traditional Welsh recipe or depicts Wales to them.
Young Performer Competition (Reception - Year 6)- This competition encourages children to showcase their talents. Auditions will take place in class the week beginning 17th February. Two children will then be chosen to represent their class during our Eisteddfod celebration. The children may like to prepare a song or dance, recite a poem or play a musical instrument.

Homework Task
The homework this week is to create an artistic piece of homework based on the book we are looking at for our topic this term ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’.
Choose one of three options below and get creative! Feel free to use any medium the children would like (pens, pencils, paint, collage) or a mixture of these! We will be reading part of the story next week.
1. George Mixing the Medicine: Draw George stirring a big, bubbling pot with strange ingredients floating around.
2. Grandmother Growing Bigger: Show the transformation of Grandmother as she grows bigger after drinking the medicine, with funny details and expressions.
3. The Magical Medicine: Draw the magic potion with bright colours, sparkling effects, or swirling patterns to show how special it is.

- Please continue to practise your lines for the nativity if you have them, as the children will grow more confident when practising in class.

Half Term Homework
HOMEWORK IS DUE WEDNESDAY
Homework Task
The homework this half term is to create a heart on a piece of paper to celebrate that we are a school of sanctuary, who welcome people from all over the world. On your heart artwork, please write a word to show why we are a school of sanctuary. We will talk more about this when we are back in the classroom. Please see examples below of what you could write. Please decorate the heart and colour in red or pink.

The Twinkly Nativity
This year our nativity performance is called 'The Twinkly Nativity' and there will be a morning and afternoon performance on Tuesday 17th December. The children have been starting to practise the songs in the classroom and were told on the last day of term what their part was.
There are both speaking and non-speaking parts for the performance. Please see in the document attached the character list with your child's name, just in case they have forgotten! The script is also attached. Feel free to print this at home and highlight your child's name if easier. If you can start pracitising lines with the children everyday please, to ensure they feel confident when it gets to our perfomance in December.
The children will need costumes for the performance. They are listed on the character list too. Get as creative as you wish! Please speak to me on the door if you are unsure as to what you need for their character or are having issues sourcing/making something, as we may have something in school to help!
