Homework 09.02.24

We are no longer using Mathletics. Please sign into MathShed for this weeks maths homework using the same login details for EdShed. (Spellings are below the Eisteddfod competition information)

Our annual Eisteddfod will be held in school on Friday 1st March 2024. On this day, children are invited to celebrate St David’s Day by wearing red clothing, Wales sports kit or traditional Welsh dress.

There will be various home and school competitions for your children to enter as part of our St. David’s Day celebrations. The competitions to be completed at home are outlined below. Please ensure that all competition entries are brought into school to be judged by Wednesday 21st February 2024 at the latest. Children are welcome to enter as many competitions as they wish and winning entries will be announced during our Eisteddfod.

Reception – Year 6 competitions:

3D Modelling Competition – Children are encouraged to make a 3D model of something which represents Wales for them. Children may use whichever means of media they wish and the topic is broad to encourage creativity.

Cookery Competition - Children are encouraged to cook something which is a traditional Welsh recipe or depicts Wales to them.

Young Performer Competition- This competition encourages children to showcase their talents. Auditions will take place in class the week beginning 26th March. Two children will then be chosen to represent their class during our Eisteddfod celebration. The children may like to prepare a song or dance, recite a poem or play a musical instrument.

Photography Competition- Children to take a photo of something that represents Wales or being Welsh. This could be a landmark or place of interest or anything else. Remember to take the photo yourself!

T-shirt Competition- Children to design and create their own Welsh / Wales themed t-shirt. This can be on a piece of paper or on an actual t-shirt.

Many thanks for your continued co-operation.

Pob Lwc! Good Luck!
