Summer Play audition

This week for homework we would like you to learn and practice a scene for our summer play. We will be holding auditions next week for parts in the play. On Google classroom you will find a scene. You may choose which character part you would like to practice and learn (Robin, Lord (Gerald), Lady, Will)

Hoodwinked

A busy market scene with villagers or pairs. Stalls are set up. There is a butcher, baker and fishmonger stall.

Servant: (To audience) Make way, friends of the Sheriff coming through! All you mucky tradespeople stay over there and you smelly peasants keep your distance!

Lord: Yes, the only filthy people we’re interested in are the filthy rich!

Lady: My dear Sir Gerald, somebody told me the peasants were revolting and they are!

Robin and some of his men run on and stand in front of the rich folk

Robin: Good marrow to you!

Lord: Robin Hood!

Lady: Robin Hood?!!

Robin: That’s my name, don’t wear it out! My merry friends and I were thinking how awfully down you look! I think we should jolly well relieve you of some of your burden. Will! Little John! Lighten the load of these weary travellers!

Will: Certainly, Robin! Your jewels, m’lady….

Lady: Never

Robin: A lady as fair as yourself has no need of trinkets like these. Your natural beauty shines far more brightly.

Lord: Don’t be ridiculous

Lady: Be quiet, Gerald (Lady hits him and hands over jewels)

Robin: Farwell lovely lady! Have a safe journey!

Lord: The Sheriff will hear of this! He’ll stretch your necks (They exit)

Homework

Friday 26th March due in Wednesday 14th April

This year Earth Day is on Thursday 22nd April and the global theme is to Restore the Earth.

On this day pupils are encouraged to wear green or blue into school for the day to show how much we are thinking about the earth and our enthusiasm for taking part in World Earth Day.

Over the Easter holidays please can you plan your outfit for Earth Day. You could wear a blue/green t-shirt that you already own or you might want to create your own earth themed outfit for the day. You could use some recycled items to help you create your own or you could create your own earth themed design on a t-shirt. Your costume could be linked to part of the earth that you think needs to be protected such as a rainforest or ocean themed costume. You could try and make some links to the Global Goals.

There will also be an additional computer safety task posted by Mr Dyer for you to complete over the Easter Break.

We hope you have a safe and happy rest over Easter.

Science

Our next Science topic is called:

Do all solids dissolve?

We would like you to research this question and feedback what you have found out. We would like you to see if you can find out about some solids that dissolve in water and some solids that don’t.

You could present this in a way of your choice: some ideas are:

  • A powerpoint showing solids that dissolve and some that don’t
  • You might even complete a mini experiment at home testing some solids that might dissolve (Please don’t buy anything for this, just if you have things at home that your parents are happy for you to use) Write up your experiment and draw some diagrams of what happened or take photos
  • Research dissolving and write it on google classrooms.
