Homework Friday 27th September

HOMEWORK IS DUE WEDNESDAY

Homework Task

Your homework this week is to create a shield using whatever materials you like! During our Cardiff castle trip this week a real knight showed us different types of shields that were used long ago. He told us that different shields have different styles of coats of arms depending on where they were from.

The shield could be made out of paper mache, recycled cardboard (cereal boxes/amazon boxes/whatever you have at home!). This will be a two week homework to allow children enough time to work on their creation! Please see images below to help you. There is a link below to use to help you.

Please practise the Hail Mary and Our Father prayers at home. Both prayers are attached to practise with the children.

Maths and Spellings have been set up on Edshed. I know a few parents were having issues with Edshed last week. We have re-printed their Edshed passwords and sent them home Monday.

Reminders:

Our school trip to Cardiff Castle is on Tuesday 24th September. If you haven't done so already please make payment on parent pay, otherwise the children will not be able to come unfortunately.

Homework Friday 13th September

HOMEWORK IS DUE WEDNESDAY

Homework Task

Apologies for the delay in uploading the homework. We were having issues uploading to the website on Friday. The children's homework task this week is to draw and colour a picture of God's wonderful world, as we are learning about the Creation story in our RE learning. Please be as creative as possible- Feel free to use any medium they wish (coloured pencils/paint/pens).

Maths and Spellings have been set up on Edshed. I know a few parents were having issues with it last week. We will re-print their Edshed passwords Monday to go home.

  • Please ensure children are being read to ideally every night or as much as possible. Encourage them to sound out and blend. The sounds we looked at in our phonics sessions last week are 'sh, qu, ch and th'. It is essential they also bring their book bag into school everyday.
  • Reminders: Please ensure your child's jumpers/cardigans are labelled with their name, so they're easy to find if they misplace them in school. Please feel free to give your child's PE kit to them on a Monday and it can stay in school till Friday to be washed at the weekend. This is just in case a PE day gets moved in the week for any reason.

Homework Task

For the children's literacy lesson next week the children will be asked to talk about a memorable experience. This could be a memorable holiday they've had, a special event in their life or a day trip. We will be writing a recount about this experience. The children will be starting their sentences with First, Next, Finally. Please help your children with discuss their memorable experience so they can recount this in class using these sentence starters. If they wish to bring in a photograph or object to support them, that would be great, but not essential.
